St. George’s Crypt has established strong collaborative relationships with key agencies and service providers in Leeds to ensure we deliver exceptional support to those under our roof.

Our services promote health and well-being, and we actively support our clients to access a range of essential healthcare providers, including GPs, physiotherapists, and dentists.

We have partnered with High Ash Dental Surgery, a dental clinic based in Leeds. The Practice partnered with the dental public health and dental commissioning teams in West Yorkshire in a programme to support people experiencing homelessness in Leeds to access dental care.

Mr Munaf Qayyum, the owner and principal dentist at High Ash Dental Practice, generously offered to provide St. George's Crypt with three weekly appointment slots for our clients. The surgery is closed for the afternoon during these appointments making sure our clients feel comfortable. Each session accommodates three clients, enabling us to meet their dental care requirements effectively.

Our clients are accompanied to dental appointments by dedicated volunteers from our drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation project, Growing Rooms, ensuring that our clients receive the necessary support throughout the dental care process.

The impact of this partnership has been very positive for our clients. For instance, one individual, who had been wearing a face mask whenever leaving their residence for the past three years, discarded their mask after receiving new dentures and confidently declared that they would never need it again. Another client expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you for helping me smile again."

At St. George's Crypt, we aim to enhance the health and well-being of the individuals we serve. By supporting them to access essential services within the city, we aim to break the cycle of homelessness and dependency, empowering our clients to engage directly with the support they need.
