This provides an alcohol free 'dry' supported accommodation for eight men. Residents have their own bedrooms and share communal facilities such as a television lounge, games room and dining room. Full board is provided including a hot cooked meal three times a day.
For residents receiving benefits, the bulk of the weekly accommodation charge is paid by Housing Benefit which is paid directly to St George's Crypt. Residents also pay a personal charge, which covers food, utility bills and other costs not met by Housing Benefit.
The house is staffed 24hrs a day, which includes one member of staff who sleeps in at night and is available for emergencies.
The project operates a keyworking system, each resident is allocated a keyworker who works with the resident on a care plan. Activities and outings are organised according to resident interest.
St George's Crypt is a Christian Charity and this project has daily bible readings at breakfast times. Staff however respect the right of residents to hold alternative or no religious beliefs.
Resident Profile
We are inclined to accept referrals from residents aged 40 or over.
Previous Accommodation
The project will consider referrals from men with almost any accommodation background, e.g. sleeping rough, short stay hostels, hospital inpatients with no home, etc.
Alcohol
The project is able to offer accommodation to men who in the past have had problems associated with alcohol misuse, but are now seeking a period of sobriety. While living in the project, residents will be expected to refrain from the use of alcohol.

Conditions for hostel:
Health and Mobility
Residents must be able to wash and dress themselves and be able to climb stairs. The project is unsuitable for anyone with significant personal care needs.
Behaviour
The project will not offer accommodation to men who have a history of violence towards women and children. Residents are expected to behave in a way that will not unduly and persistently upset those living and working around them.
Resettlement
The work of the project is aimed primarily towards those needing long term supported accommodation.
