Latest Christmas Appeal news

Donations from British Gas

The build up to Christmas is gathering momentum and so is our Christmas Appeal.

Only launched a couple of weeks ago we have already been grateful and happy for all the donations arriving each day in our office via a variety of different ways.

Obviously, you can donate online, by cheque or in person – thanks for dropping by!

Now you can use Paypal to donate to the Crypt we are seeing more and more givers ensuring that they do their bit towards helping the homeless this Christmas.

Thanks too, for those of you offering to help in many other ways. Here are some suggestions:

 Organise a fundraising event for friends and local community – a coffee morning, bring and buy, or produce sale
 Encourage people to donate new or quality used toys for needy families over Christmas
 Encourage people to donate practical items e.g. tins of non-perishable food, socks, toiletries which are always useful for our service users
 We can (with notice) provide a speaker for a fund raising event if you are able to organise one

Meanwhile, the picture above shows over £250 worth of goods donated by British Gas staff to the Crypt - many thanks to everyone there who contributed.
We appreciate all your donations and support.
All contributions are vital to our work and we rely on your help.

Sunday 5th December is the Sunday when we will be lighting our second Advent candle! Two more Sundays before Christmas! PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN TO HELP.

Some of our supporters:

“We work in the library at Horsforth School. We fine pupils 5p for each day a book is returned late. We would like you to have this money to help the homeless of Leeds at Christmas.” - Anon

“I never cease to be amazed at the range of people who I know use the Crypt and I hope that my donation goes some way towards helping them have a happy Christmas!” Tim
