‘The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.’ Isaiah 61 v 1
As usual, God in his generosity has taken us by surprise again and rewarded our hard work with the fantastic news that a substantial award has been given to the Crypt by central Government for the refurbishment and the building of 16 bedrooms for the most needy of people we invite through our doors. This is specifically for the rebuilding works but does not include our regular running costs.
This is wonderful news but as usual brings its own challenges. We can never rest on our laurels, we ask for your prayers that we are blessed by the Holy Spirit and are graced with good stewardship and common sense of good housekeeping. During all this upheaval we ask you to pray for the day to day work going relentlessly, held together by the knowledge that people are praying and supporting us every day.
We ask for prayer in ’decanting’ to new premises whilst the extensive building work commences and that we find the right place and an understanding landlord. I personally ask you to pray for the staff and volunteers who will be challenged throughout all this. Please pray for strength, love, understanding and the ability to adapt and manage through potential chaos.
Thank you and God bless you for all your continued support and prayers, this is one challenge we cannot afford to falter in.
